If you have lost a loved one to substance use harms, there are resources to help.
- Moms Stop the Harm National Peer Support Line: A safe and confidential space for anyone impacted by substance use or loss due to overdose. 1-866-355-MSTH (6784). The national support phone line operates: Thursdays and Fridays, from3:00–9:00 PM PT / 5:00–11:00 PM CT / 6:00 PM–12:00 AM ET.
- Moms Stop the Harm Healing Hearts Grief Support Groups: Offering monthly in-person and online peer support groups for people who have lost someone to substance use harms.
- BC Bereavement Helpline: We are here to listen and to help by providing referrals for grief and loss close to you. If you are having a tough time coping, call 604-738-9950, or Toll Free 1-877-779-2223 (Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm)
- BC Crisis Centre: Vancouver (604-872-3311), Vancouver Island (1-888-494-3888), Interior (1-888-353-2273)
- Victoria Hospice: Offering up to six no-cost counselling sessions to South Island residents, in person, or remotely via telephone or virtual sessions. BC Hospice may have a community office in other regions to provide individual bereavement support and counselling. Contact the main provincial number to find the office closest to you: 1-877-410-6297
- Canadian Virtual Hospice: The Canadian Virtual Hospice provides support and personalized information about loss and grief to individuals on a virtual platform.
